Frequently asked questions
About SLOE
What is SLOE?
SLOE is a different kind of energy drink made with matcha and green tea.
We created it as an alternative to the classic energy drink — for people who want energy without everything normally associated with the category.
Simple ingredients, naturally occurring caffeine from tea, and a drink made for training, work and everything in between.
Why did you create SLOE?
We didn't really identify with traditional energy drinks.
The category has long been associated with extreme stimulation, high caffeine levels and quick fixes. We wanted to approach energy differently.
SLOE was created around matcha and green tea and originally imagined for the quieter periods around racing: training, preparation, recovery and everyday life.
Because progress is rarely one big moment.
It happens sloe and steady.
Is SLOE an energy drink?
Yes.
But we created SLOE specifically as an alternative to what people normally expect from an energy drink.
Instead of trying to make the most extreme drink possible, we built SLOE around matcha and green tea.
What does “Sloe and steady” mean?
It's our take on “slow and steady.”
SLOE isn't about quick fixes or one-off moments of maximum performance. It's about the work that happens consistently over time — whether that's training, creating, working or something else entirely.
Progress takes time.
Sloe and steady.
Matcha & Energy
Where does the caffeine in SLOE come from?
The caffeine in SLOE comes naturally from the tea used in the drink, including matcha and green tea.
How much caffeine is in one can?
One can of SLOE contains 60 mg caffeine
For comparison, an average cup of coffee can vary considerably in caffeine content depending on the coffee, brewing method and serving size.
Does SLOE contain L-theanine?
Matcha and green tea naturally contain L-theanine.
How is SLOE different from a regular energy drink?
The biggest difference is what we chose to build it around.
SLOE starts with matcha and green tea rather than trying to recreate the conventional energy-drink formula.
That also reflects how we think about the product: SLOE isn't about maximum stimulation or a quick fix. It's an everyday drink designed around the long game.
Is SLOE a replacement for coffee?
It can be, but it doesn't have to be.
Some people drink SLOE when they would otherwise have a coffee. Others drink it before training, during the afternoon or simply because they prefer a cold drink.
One can contains 60 mg caffeine, so use the caffeine amount to decide what works for you.
When should I drink SLOE?
There isn't one right time.
We made SLOE for the hours around training, work, travel and everyday life.
Before training. Between sessions. During an afternoon at work. Or whenever you'd rather have something cold than another coffee.
Because SLOE contains caffeine, consider your total daily caffeine intake and avoid drinking it too close to bedtime if caffeine affects your sleep.
Can I drink SLOE before training?
SLOE contains caffeine and can be consumed before training.
How and when you use caffeine is individual, so take your own caffeine tolerance and total daily intake into account.
SLOE isn't intended to replace water, food or proper sports nutrition.
